Charlie Skinner, Councillor, Sheriff of Redruth, Honorary Ambassador to the Peoples Republic of North Korea is also a member of the team. Charlie really is a Councillor and a really great guy. A proper Redruth boy, he is an active member of many local organisations and has raised tens of thousands for both local charities and the poor in South America.
[email protected] Mike and 'Daave the Raave'. Daave is from Truro and is a prolific poet often performing them in public. His poems are often great fun but sometimes have a critical view of politics and politicians! Daave was actually trained as a scientist and was a Fire Brigade officer. He is very active with community based activities all over and as his name suggests, he does like those City night clubs in Truro!
[email protected] A few weeks ago ARTHUR HAGUES final year Press and Editorial Photography student from Falmouth University contacted One and All Radio. Here is what he said:
" I'm currently doing a project on community radio, in particular stations that appeal to specific communities whilst simultaneously educating those outside of the community. Been listening to the Source FM and came across your show, the discussion of Cornish identity issues is fascinating. Being someone from outside of Cornwall I'm not usually exposed to these issues, so hearing yourself talk so strongly about them is really enlightening - its sad that the Cornish identity isn't paid as much attention as Wales/Scotland etc. If you have time I'd really like to come and take some photographs of yourself for this project - its important to consider the local area when considering photographing community issues." We were more than willing to oblige the gifted young man. He showed up on a Monday and took a series of pictures , one of which you can see above. This image is of Tony carrying the Celtic League Flag while standing on the Beacon in Falmouth, his home town. The Beacon overlooks the stunning Falmouth Bay with the Docks visible to the left. Arthur has a bright future in his chosen career. See more of his talents here: http://www.arthurhagues.co.uk/prison-radio/ [email protected] On the 'One and All' programme syndicated to Redruth Radio, Mike refers to reports of cultural vandalism by English Heritage and Natural England whilst chatting to Craig Weatherhill live about this issue. More information about the whole subject here: http://savepenwithmoors.com/ which opens on to the 'Save Penwith Moors' website! [email protected]
At the Source FM Christmas bash, our very own Tony had the usual run of luck! Mind you, Source FM have every reason to celebrate having worked hard to raise £5,000 for the new transmitter and through one means and another, including a light hearted auction, achieved the figure needed! Hey, they look like bottles in that bucket Tony! Hic! [email protected]
Well, according to messages we have been receiving, many of our listeners believe that Charles, Duke of Cornwall is something of a hypocrite. We are discussing this on a future programme and invite your views! [email protected]
'Men an Tol' in a truly dreadful state. Thousands of years of heritage trampled over by huge cattle allowed in to the area by English quangoes. The cattle use the ancient stones as 'rubbing posts'! Note the mud and cattle dung! A link to an interview with Cornish archaeologist and author Craig Weatherhill where the current crisis is discussed. The interview was recorded and will be replayed on One and All on Monday 25th November, 2013 during our broadcast from Falmouth's Source FM: http://www.mixcloud.com/tonyleamon/one-and-all-radio-interview-with-craig-weatherhill/
Yes it's hard to believe isn't it? But it's happening and happening now! And the culprits? None other than English Heritage and Natural England who between them are causing destruction to ancient Cornish monuments in their supposed care! Two organisations have been working hard to prevent the damage 'Save Penwith Moors' and the 'Cornish Ancient Sites Protection Network'. Now the Cornwall Branch of the Celtic League has joined these two organisations in flagging this issue to Cornwall Council, to that ever distant and uncaring government in Westminster, to UNESCO and others! Hundreds are shocked at the actions of these undemocratic and unwanted quangoes - English Heritage and Natural England. The call is out for Cornwall to manage its own heritage and history. On Thursday 21st November 2013 'One and All' will be chatting to Craig Weatherhill Cornish archaeologist and author about the issue.
Listen in to Redruth Radio between 10 AM and 12 noon to find out more! Link to the radio here: http://redruth.fm/ Read about the criminal negligence of these English quangoes and see the photographic evidence for yourself here: http://savepenwithmoors.com/ [email protected] We are getting up to 200 'hits' a day on this website from all over the globe! Well done 'One and All'! [email protected]
